Derived from nutmeg seeds, it is a polyphenolic compound shown to switch on genes that traffic fatty acids into newly formed adipocytes for storage. This mechanism increased adipose tissue volume by an average of 12% compared to a placebo in 30 human volunteers after 28 days.
