Lactic Acid is derived from milk sugar. Lactic Acid belongs to the family of alpha hydroxy acids. It is less irritating to the skin than the fruit- and sugar cane-derived AHAs. Lactic Acid dissolves the “glue” that holds dead skin cells together in the epidermis. Once loosened up, these dead skin cells can be easily dissolved or exfoliated to reveal new skin underneath.
